Roberta Coni was born in Marino (Rome) in 1976. She graduated from the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Rome in 1999. She completed her studies abroad with two scholarships in Spain and the United States. Primarily interested in the human figure, she mixes the classical technique of oil painting with full-bodied blends of mixed media. Since 2009, her research has focused on large-scale paintings in which the face often emerges from the shadows in an interpretation in which the contemplative soul aims to express itself continuous introspection. It is characterised by a strong sense of realism combined with increasingly rough materials. From female figures of poignant expressivity, faces in the foreground where, with particular, almost lenticular attention, the brush lingers on the skin and eyes, on the details and secret pulsations of the pictorial surface.
